As the Holidays Approach...
We're reminded of those family gatherings. You know the ones - making small talk, catching up, and carefully avoiding the topics everyone knows are off-limits.
Let's be honest. Every family has conversations that seem easier to avoid.
Sometimes, keeping the peace means leaving things unsaid. But what happens when the things left unsaid begin creating distance in relationships that matter?
What if your family could learn a different way to have those conversations?
Benefits of
‘Family Therapy Intensives’
Getting everyone together isn't always easy. Between work, school, family responsibilities, and everyone's schedules, finding a time that works can take some planning.
So when you finally get everyone in the same room, wouldn't it be nice to have more than an hour to work through what's bringing you together?
Traditional therapy sessions are shorter, and sometimes just as conversations begin to open up, it's time to wrap up. You pause, go back to everyday life, and wait until the next appointment to pick things back up.
A family therapy intensive gives you three dedicated hours to slow down, explore important concerns, have meaningful conversations, and practice new ways of communicating - all within a more concentrated experience.
There's more room to build momentum, explore family dynamics, & work toward meaningful change without having to stop just as things are getting started.
Is a ‘Family Therapy Intensive’ Right for You & Your Family?
Maybe there are conversations you need to have but don't know how to approach them. The truth is, we all have different perspectives, unresolved concerns, or expectations that can become difficult to navigate.
Perhaps you've tried talking things through, but haven't gotten where you'd hoped.
At Vibrant Life Counseling, Jami Visaya, LMFT, LMHC, has thoughtfully designed Family Therapy Intensives around each family's unique needs. They provide dedicated time to slow down, work through difficult topics, and explore new ways of understanding and relating to one another. Along the way, families have the opportunity to learn and practice practical communication skills they can carry into everyday life.
When relationships become difficult, having someone who understands the complexities of family dynamics can make a meaningful difference.
Family relationships don't happen in isolation. Our experiences, family history, cultural backgrounds, expectations, and the ways we've learned to communicate all influence how we relate to one another.

I'm Jami Visaya, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 14 years of experience and graduate-level training in Marriage and Family Therapy. My work is grounded in a family systems and systemic approach, looking beyond disagreements to understand the patterns, interactions, and underlying concerns that keep families stuck.

My professional experience is complemented by my own lived experiences navigating significant relationship challenges and life transitions. I understand how personal this work can be and bring both clinical knowledge and genuine human understanding to the process.
